CNS Barrier Congress
Mar. 22 - 23, 2017
The blood-brain barrier is the single most important factor limiting the future growth of neurotherapeutics.
The CNS barriers are long-recognised as obstacles for drug delivery and tackling neurological disease. Treatments for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, retinopathy and brain cancer have experienced slow progress, as we puzzle to overcome these barriers. With an ageing population sensitive to neurological problems, research is needed now more than ever. Broadly, we face two main challenges in the field:
- Understanding pathological effects on barriers in disease
- Refining delivery methods to carry therapeutics across barriers.
The CNS Barrier Congress will bring together experts from a myriad of disciplines, to collectively discuss the best ways to overcome these challenges, and pave the way for progress in neurological disease treatment.
